Classes Available in 2010



KINDER DANCE (For 2.5 years to 5 years)
The students learn basic Classical movement and Jazz style using age appropriate music. The emphasis is to develop a love & enjoyment of dance, whilst at the same time gain an understanding of music, coordination and confidence. Kinder Tap and Jazz for 3.5-5 years will be introduced this year. Group A (2.5-3 Years) Group B (3.5-5 Years).







CLASSICAL BALLET - RAD
The syllabi have been devised to provide a strong foundation for future dance training that is appropriate and relevant to young children of today. Fun to do and rewarding to teach, these syllabi help to develop children's physical skills, stamina, creativity, and expression and musicality using a range of sounds and musical styles. Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) a syllabus devised & examined (optional) by the R.A.D governing body. The work has been carefully selected to suit the very young child to develop slowly & carefully to professional levels. We also have Beginner Ballet for ADULTS and an Open Advanced Ballet with Pointe Work.


 

 JAZZ/FUNK

This class caters from 4 years of age to Professionals. For the dancer who loves to move to the latest music, learning the strong technical elements of Jazz/ Funk and enjoying the exercise. This style focuses on the strength, stretch, coordination and creative development of the dancer. It is an essential class to balance out the new Hip Hop genre of Dance. Internal School Assessments are on offer for all levels and are held in Term 2.



 

TAP - CSTD
The Tap classes are Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing, Syllabus. C.S.T.D. This syllabus provides an opportunity to enter examinations from 5 years to adults. The exams are very short from 5 minutes to 1 hour for the top levels. It is an excellent way to enter into the examination process and gain confidence. Exams are held end of August/ September and in November/ December. Internal School Assessments are on offer for all levels this year.

HIP HOP

The is an exciting and enjoyable form of dance for beginners to experienced dancers - this is the stuff you see on the film clips.
This is an excellent way to start dancing for beginner teens and adults.
 

 
CONTEMPORARY DANCE CLASSES

Contemporary dance classes provided by professional educators and dancers. Influenced by national and international choreographers. A great support classes for SACE Dance students and those who love to move!

SACE Dance Year 11 and Year 12

Students from year 9 can achieve year 11 dance subject for their South Australian Certificate of Education.
Auditions and interviews held throughout December 2009 and January 2010.
